How do I sign up for swimming lessons?
Begin by contacting Susan.
Where are the lessons taught?
Susan teaches her lessons at various country club pools in the Palo Alto and Portola Valley areas.
Will Susan teach at private pools?
Yes, provided they are within her range of driving distance and travel expenses are paid appropriately.
When are the lessons taught?
Susan teaches lessons year ’round on weekdays and weekends. She will try to accommodate your schedule.
How long are the lessons?
The lessons are 30 minutes long. If you request a longer lesson, Susan can teach 45 minute or one hour lessons.
What is the class size?
All lessons are private unless you provide another swimmer.
What age is a good age to begin lessons?
In Susan’s vast experience, children aged 3+ possess the physical and emotional development to have a successful experience with her program.
What should I, or my child, bring to the lessons?
A bathing suit and a towel, no other things are necessary (goggles, fins, etc.)
Should a parent attend the lesson?
Yes! For the child, it is important to have the security of a familiar adult/caregiver in an unfamiliar situation. For the parent, it is exciting to watch your child learn to swim, and observation will help you in working with your child outside of lessons.
Does the parent get into the water?
